Since its founding, handwoven silk and wool rugs have shaped the identity of Çınar Rugs. Every piece carries a tradition built on skill, patience, and vision. The company remains rooted in its values and passes on its experience from generation to generation.

Ahmet Çınar leads the family business with heritage and growth devotion. The company has earned worldwide recognition, securing the “American Magnificent Carpet” award three years in a row. Dubai now has the Çınar Rugs Museum, which is starting a new chapter.

Adapting Tradition to a Changing World

Rugs woven in Kayseri have reached homes across continents. Transitioning from a workshop-based family trade to an international name required more than skill at the loom. Innovation and adaptability have played a role in every step.

“Keeping tradition alive does not mean standing still,” said Ahmet Çınar. “The foundation stays the same, but we always look ahead. The museum in Dubai is part of that vision—connecting people to the work that has shaped our family for decades.”

Centennial Knots

The museum houses an archive as well as an active design studio. Every carpet exhibited instructs a story—patterns passed through decades, color palettes drawn from nature, and knots tied by hands that have spent years improving their method. The company is still known for its classical and modern interpretations, which combine silk and wool to produce pieces rich in history and artistry.

“We work with patterns that go back centuries, but we also introduce new ideas,” said Çınar. “Rugs serve a purpose other than simply covering the floor. They transmit meaning and connect diverse spaces. “Our work is about storytelling, not just weaving.”

Fashion, Art, and Innovation

Cinar recently stepped beyond interior design, introducing the first-ever carpet fashion collection at Dubai’s Fashion Factor. The runway show converted handwoven rugs into wearable garments, fusing weaving craftsmanship with contemporary fashion. The museum has taken that spirit and run with it, praising rugs for far more than their practical use.

“Our team does not see limits in what rugs can be,” said Çınar. “The museum shows that vision, giving people a chance to see the work up close, understand the techniques, and appreciate what goes into every knot and thread.”

A Museum Built on Generations of Work

With its rich appreciation for design, Dubai provides a fitting home for the museum. Visitors can walk through collections that span decades, from intricate silk masterpieces to bold contemporary designs. The space also hosts guided tours, offering insight into process and history.

“Our work carries more than patterns and fabric,” said Çınar. “It carries the hands, the time, and the skill of the weavers. That is what people will see when they walk through the museum.”

The Çınar Rugs Museum opens its doors not as a showroom but as a homage to an art form that has navigated through the test of time.
